Notes: 1) This entry is about a Japanese vinyl EP comprising of songs that were included, in their original form, on the “No Jacket Required” album and were subsequently released, in their remixed form, as 12” vinyl singles. Whether this particular compilation was issued in other countries is unbeknownst to me. 2) Please note that while track 1, 3 and 4 are the same extended mixes included in the EU/US CD compilation “12”ers” (see entry in the Phil Collins - compilations post), track 2 is an entirely different remix, with a different duration and a different arrangement. Whether this specific extended mix had been issued as a 12” single prior to this compilation’s release is unbeknownst to me. 3) Japanese release comes with a lyrics and photo insert. 4) For more detailed musician credits please see the “No Jacket Required” entry in the Phil Collins - Studio and Live Albums post.

Notes: 1) Track 1 is a remixed medley of two tracks from the “No Jacket Required” album and one track from the “Hello, I Must Be Going!” album. The remix adds some sound effects, some drum breaks, and, at the end of the track, the drum break from “In The Air Tonight”. 2) Track 2 is the same remix also included in the “12”ers” compilation (see entry in the Phil Collins - compilations post). 3) For more detailed musician credits please see the “No Jacket Required” entry in the Phil Collins - Studio and Live Albums post, and the “Hello, I Must Be Going!” album credits.

“Everyday” - EU 4-track CD single - front inlay

“Everyday” - EU 4-track CD single - back inlay

Phil Collins
Everyday/Don’t Call Me Ashley/Everyday (early demo)/Doesn’t Anybody Stay Together Anymore (live)
WEA 4509 94716-2 (1993) - EU 4-track CD single

1 - Everyday (album track)
2 - Don’t Call Me Ashley (previously unreleased track)
3 - Everyday (early demo) (previously unreleased track)
4 - Doesn’t Anybody Stay Together Anymore (live)* (previously unreleased version)

Notes: 1) This is an European CD issue of the single “Everyday” taken from the Phil Collins album “Both Sides”. 2) Track 4 was recorded during the 1990 Serious Tour but NOT included in the double live album (see entry in the Phil Collins - Studio and Live Albums post). Also, please note that this track is NOT the same version of the song included in the “Serious Hits... Live!” DVD either. While the two performances seem to be fairly alike, the four repeated title lines near the end, and the words “I wonder why” are sung in a different manner and with subtle variations and additions. 3) For more detailed musician credits about the live track please see the “Serious Hits... Live!” entry in the Phil Collins - Studio and Live Albums post.

“Everyday” - US 5-track CD maxi single - front cover

“Everyday” - US 5-track CD maxi single - rear cover

Phil Collins
Everyday/Don’t Call Me Ashley/Everyday (early demo)/Hang In Long Enough (live)/Hand In Hand (live)

3 - Everyday (early demo) (previously unreleased track)
4 - Hang In Long Enough (live)* (audio track from DVD)
5 - Hand In Hand (live)* (audio track from DVD)

Notes: 1) This is a US-only CD issue of the single “Everyday”, taken from the Phil Collins album “Both Sides”. This issue differs from its European counterpart (see entry above) in that the fourth track “Doesn’t Anybody Stay Together Anymore (live)” has been replaced by two other live tracks recorded during the 1990 Serious Tour and similarly NOT included in the double live album (see the “Serious Hits… Live!” entry in the Phil Collins - Studio and Live Albums post): “Hang In Long Enough (live)” and “Hand In Hand (live)”. Contrary to the EU single, though, both of these two live tracks were already been released (same version) in the “Serious Hits... Live! In Berlin” DVD. 2) For more detailed musician credits about the live tracks please see the “Serious Hits... Live!” entry in the Phil Collins - Studio and Live Albums post. 3) According to web sources, this maxi single was released in the US also on 12” vinyl.

“Love Songs” sampler - front sleeve

“Love Songs” sampler - rear sleeve

Phil Collins - Love Songs - A Compilation... Old And New
6 Track Sampler From the Forthcoming 2CD Compilation
Atlantic/Face Value Records PRO 15092/LCO 4281 (2004) - EU and US promo sampler CD

1 - Tearing And Breaking (edit) - 3:47 (sampler-only track)
2 - Against All Odds - 3:23 (album track)
3 - One More Night* - 4:44 (album track)
4 - True Colours (rehearsal) (edit)* - 3:13 (sampler-only track)

5 - Do You Remember? - 4:35 (album track)
6 - The Way You Look Tonight (live) - 4:03 (album track)

Notes: 1) This is a promotional sampler for the double compilation “Love Songs - A Compilation... Old And New” (see entry in the Phil Collins - compilations post). 2) Tracks 1 and 4 are actual edits of the songs included in the compilation. Differences are as follows (please note that none of these two tracks have a fade-out). “Tearing And Breaking” - The duration of the compilation version is 5:28 while the edit version is 3:47. In the edit, the second verse of the lyrics has been edited out. Also, the ending chorus is repeated two times instead of four with accompaniment, and two times instead of three ‘a cappella’. “True Colours (rehearsal)” - The duration of the compilation version is, again, 5:28, while the edit version is 3:13. In the edit, the second soprano sax solo by Gerald Albright has been edited out. Also, the vocal ad-libs near the ending have been somewhat cut. 3) Track 3 (“One More Night”) is the same Allen Sides remix included in the “Love Songs” compilation (see entry above in the Phil Collins - compilations post). 4) The sampler bears two different catalog numbers and two different labels, one for the EU and the other for the US market (see above). 5) For more detailed musician credits please see the “Love Songs” entry in the Phil Collins - compilations post.
