According to web sources these were originally included in the Billy Preston album “Late At Night” on Motown M7-925R1 (US, 1979) although album duration for track 15 was longer, clocking in at 4:57. Reissue notes indicate these as being Billy Preston solo singles. 4) Tracks 11, 12, 13, 14 were originally included in the soundtrack album of the 1979 Jack Smight motion picture “Fast Break”. 5) Tracks 16, 17 are two solo singles by Syreeta. Watkins, Jr. (11, 13), Ray Brown (12), Abe Laboriel (14). 7) In the original album notes, mixing credits for Michael Schuman and Ollie E. Brown are not track-by-track specified. 8) On CD reissue some of the producing and tech credits for bonus tracks are bundled together in a somewhat confusing layout. “This record would not have been possible without these people listed below. A multitude of thanks to your mothers for giving birth to you and also to those who inspired you along the way so your talents could be shared with me and my fans. // Thanks to: my producers, Byron and Dann; we have shared three albums now. On this record you kicked some serious ass and were not afraid to get down with it. I love you guys. / Marti, you’re a cool cat and a talented ol’ chum. Let’s do it again. / Missi Gallimore for searching long and hard for these songs. This time has most certainly been a ride. I love ya, momma / Darrell Franklin for pounding the pavement for all of these months and never giving up. / The songwriters and publishers; I rely on you and what you consider to be the right material for me. However, with this album you had no limits and you provided me with many surprises. In this, you allowed me to spread my wings and fly. / My manager and partner, Gary Borman. We have now been doing this for ten years. You are a true fighter and a true visionary. Thank you for never giving less than 150%. Let’s keep on rockin’ brother. / Sandra Westerman, this train would not roll without you on it. You rock, chick!!!! / Joni, DJ and everyone at Borman Entertainment for working so hard on my behalf. / Paul Freundlich, for your stubborn “will not take no for an answer” attitude. This is fun, man! / All the amazing musicians and singers. You absolutely blew me away with your talents on this record. / Masterful engineers and mixers. All I can say is wow!!! / My Warner Bros. family...Roger Ames, Dawn Bridges, Jim Ed Norman, Tom Whalley, Steve Margo, Susan Leon, John Beug and Warner Music around the world. Your support has been undying. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to make this record. / A huge thank you to Jeff Aldrich for moving mountains on behalf of the music. All I can say is 11:59. / Al Hagaman for giving me the space to make this record. You really are a lover of music. / Ellen Porter, Laura Beth Hendricks, Dawn Yates and everyone at O’Neil Hagaman for keeping my business together. / Craig Hayes for staying on top of it all. / Special thank you to Phil Q for always believing in me. / Special thank you to Martha Sharp for giving me the break that started my career. / John Huie, Rod Essig, Brian Loucks and my team at CAA. / Randy and Rene for making my fans want to participate in all that is happening and for keeping them well informed. / Those who are the glue in my personal life. You are a part of our family and without you there would be no album. Thank you for loving our girls so. You’ll never know what that means to us. / My tour manager Jimmy Johnson, for always pointing me in the right direction and always having the answer. / My assistant Mandy Kenknight, for keeping it all together no matter what the request. / Carol, Donna, Sophia and Daine for taking the stress and pressure away. / It often takes a lot of teamwork on behalf of my organization and Tim’s organization in order to put our busy lives together. I want to thank Scott, Mark, Kelly, Robert, Jessie and everyone at RPM. / To my beloved family, the entire kit and kaboodle, I love you all deeply and without hesitation. / Tim, Gracie, Maggie and Audrey for making a rainy day flood with sunshine. I thank God for you every second that is in every day. Saying I love you does not seem enough. / Last, but certainly not least, to my fans. This music is for you. / God bless America! God bless America!!!!!”.
