stereo side

1 - Bad Seed* (3:26) - edited version - stereo mix

mono side

2 - Bad Seed* (3:26) - edited version - mono mix

Notes: 1) This is a promo single by Kim Carnes released in 1975. Alternate catalog #s are 12012-S for the stereo mix and 12012 for the mono mix. 2) Song was taken from the album “Kim Carnes” (see entry above). Please refer to that album’s entry for more detailed musician credits (remember however that these were not available in track-by-track format). 3) The version of “Bad Seed” on this single release has been edited down to 3:26 minutes from the original 4:30 minutes. Parts edited out start from the “Oh darlin’, come on and take my love” verse at the end of second chorus, through to the end of the first “Come on and take my love” verse at the closing of third chorus included. In between, the “damn that ol’ dream” bridge has been done away with as well. A further difference between the two versions lies in the “Honey you’re a bad seed” ad-lib of the coda, which is repeated fully six times on the single edit version and eight times on the LP version before total fade-out.
