“Hi, thanks for buying this album. I hope you receive large amounts of pleasure when you press play on the thingamajig that makes the sound come out of the speakers. I had a great time playing and singing under the loving and watchful eyes of my producer Mr. Steven Soles. I would also like to thank my wonderful engineer Mr. Larry Hirsch. Larry was admirably assisted by 2nd engineer John Sorensen. I would also like to send HUGE BUSHELS of love and thanks to the ever lovely Jenny Price (my A&R) for without her this album wouldn’t even be here. Muchas Gracias, Jenny. This album is dedicated to Larry Hirsch’s hamster Avery, A.K.A. the mooster micester who died and went to hamster heaven while we were in the midst of recording. I would also like to thank the stellar cast of musicians who gave their soul to the analog tape: Jim Keltner, Dean Parks, Bob Glaub, Steven Soles, Leland Sklar, Benmont Tench, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones horn section (Dennis Brockenborough, Tim Burton and Kevin Lenear), David Kemper, my dear friend and songwriting pal Jewel Kilcher, Jimmie Haskell, Gregory Page, Denny Fongheiser, Van Dyke Parks, the always ready Jerry Scheff, John Wittenberg, Joy Lyle, Xiao N He, Joel Derouin and Steve Richards. A shot of love must also go out to Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles for all the greasy food that kept us lubed. A big shout goes out to the fine folks at Ocean Way especially Clarice and Ya Yoi. A busload of thank yous to Robert Duffey, my friend and manager. For all of you technological geeks out there this album was recorded analog using a Radio Shack micro cassette answering machine. // At this time of this long-winded thank you recipe I would like to add 4 gallons of thank yous to all of the Rugburns fans for supporting me over the years and letting me crash on your floors and drink your whiskey. Don’t worry, there will be another ’Burns CD in the future. I just wanted to be sensitive folk guy Joe and not have anyone die in this batch of songs, including the Mommy deer. Once again thanks for listening. Love, Steve Poltz”.
“Special thanks to: Ma n Pa Poltz - Thanks for making me stick with those geetar lessons, my sister Kath, my nephew and niece Shea and Kayla, and my Uncle Louie for taking me to all the Planet of the Apes movies. I would like to thank Danny Goldberg for dragging my sorry ass off the road and getting me into the studio; and David Leach for his hours of patience in working with me during battling practice. I would also like to thank Dana Millman, Ken Weinstein, Dave Einstein and all the super kool folks at Mercury Records. // A Schwinn bike with a basket full of thank yous goes out to Diana D’Amato for nursing the bird back to health with that cute little bird dropper full of baby food. I gotta thank Sam D’Amato for getting me hooked on cough syrup and Valium and turning me on to his bookie. 12 steps won’t be enough for me. Mine go to 13. A special thanks to all my musical friends back home in San Diego: John “Parchney” Castro, Java Joe Flamini, Karla Peterson, George Varga, David Branfman, Esq., Tommy and Marla, Tom Plein for loaning me cash for my first PA, Mike Halloran for playing my shit on the radio way back when I was on 8-track, Drunk Ted and Flipside Mag, Wendy’s open mike at Java Joe’s especially Wendy and his cute berets, and Dick’s Automotive. // Otherwordly thanks to: Hap Mansfield and everyone at Cake Magazine, Anastasia Davies, Herb Cohen, Martin Cohen, Evan Cohen, Jane Ayer, Donna Gast for lipstick tips, Jack Duffey, Katherine Duffey, Carol Ellis, Nancy Levin and Michelle St. Claire, Danny Ferrington, Kevin Moran, the wonderful author of the Niceness Manifesto Mr. Joe Daly, Brad and Bruce at Absolute Artists, and T.J. & everyone at Taylor Guitars. If I forgot to thank you it’s because I’m high on cough syrup. I am really sorry.”.

“Hey Everybody! // Thanks for checking out my CD! For more of my lyrics and journal entries, go to my website www.hopepartlow.com // Love, // Hope”.
“Thanking people should be an easy thing to do but it’s not. There is no way I can express my gratitude for everything that everyone has done for me. // It doesn’t start with recording an album. It starts at the beginning. First of all I give a huge thank you to my parents, my brother and sisters, and the rest of my family. Thanks for your love and support through everything. To my lovely friends at home, Billy Owens and the All American Band, everybody at the Strand - thanks for truly believing in me. // Aunt Joyce, Chris Pelcer, Laura Donohue, Allison Allen, Theresa Smith, I wouldn’t be here without all of your help and love. // Jan Smith and staff, Nite Driscoll, and the Atlanta Institute of Music - All of you totally rock and I can’t thank you enough. // All of the great musicians and songwriters, everyone at the studios thank you so much. Stuart Dutsky and Co., Joe Serling, Larry Rudolph, Adam Leber, and Kati Herrera - thanks for handing all the business stuff. Katie Agresta, everyone at Hanson Fitness, Robin Dunn at Steps on Broadway, Matthew Smith, Alan Savage, all of you kicked my butt with your talent. Thank you. Greg Collins, Mark Dobson, and the many involved in the making - Thank you for all your hard work. To everyone in the band - I HOPE IT LASTS FOREVER. No pun intended. Everyone at Virgin Records, thank you for all your time, effort, and energy. So much behind the scenes stuff has to happen and be dealt with - All of you do such an awesome job. Thank you again! // Dean Serletic, I wouldn’t be where I am today without you so it’s all your fault. I am very thankful to have someone like you who has walked me through, step by step, the process of making an album. You always had faith in me. Thank you. // Matt Serletic, I don’t know where to begin so I’ll start at the end - YOU ARE AWESOME! Working with you on the album was so cool. You amaze me with how much talent you have. I will never be able to thank you enough for giving me this huge opportunity! To be and artist with Virgin Records is a complete dream come true. Thank you for seeing what I could become with some help and a lot of support. I have so much respect for you and again I thank you.”.
“So many people have helped with this album. I thank you all so very very much. // Rock on, // - Hope”.

Notes: 1) According to web sources, this CD album was released at least in four different content configurations the world over, plus one more edition for the iTunes market. We will go back to the specific releases in detail once I get hold of those. So far, it will suffice to list the bonus tracks that were included by country of pressing, bearing in mind that some of this info could not be verified:
US bonus track: “Little Wonders - radio version”.
Germany bonus tracks: “Years From Now”, “Remembered Well”.
Japan bonus tracks (verified): “Overrun”, “Her Diamonds - video”.
ITunes bonus tracks (verified): “Sleep Till The War Is Over”, “Believe”.
My thanks to Donnavox, who is a Rob Thomas forum member at http://boards.atlanticrecords.com/artists/robthomas/forums. According to her, the iTunes tracks come without liner notes, just like “Overrun” in its CD release as b-side for the “Her Diamonds” single. Check back for updates. 2) Above picture and following credits were taken from the made in Malaysia EU release on Emblem/Atlantic 756 7896812L (2009).

Notes: 1) “Banjoman” is a CD album tribute to American songwriter and musician Derroll Adams. 2) The majority of the tracks in this collection are newly-recorded versions of songs both from Adam’s songbook and repertoire: tracks 1, 3, 4, 18 are traditionals; tracks 2, 5, 6, 7, 8, 11, 15, 16, 17, 19 were written by Derroll Adams; track 21 was co-written by Derroll Adams and Tucker Zimmerman; track 9 is a cover version of a Carter Family song; track 10 is a cover version of a Jimmie Rodgers song; track 12 is a new version of a Donovan song about Adams that was originally included in the Donovan’s record album “A Gift From A Flower To A Garden”; tracks 13 and 14 were written by English singer-songwriters Ralph McTell and Allan Taylor; track 20 was written by singer-songwriter Tucker Zimmerman. 3) Track 17 is same version already released on the 1976 Donovan album “Slow Down World” with the title “My Love Is True (Love Song)”. This should be true also of track 5, but please check back for confirmation once the Donovan post is published. 4) On track 17, Lee shares bass-player credits with David Hungate. 5) CD Album comes with a 60-page booklet including a biographical essay by Hans Theessink with interviews to Derroll Adams and some of the other players, liner notes by Theessink and Arlo Guthrie and lyrics.
